KH6JPL Repeater Guidelines
Touch Tone Commands Testing
your DTMF Microphone
| The KH6JPL repeater
is a open repeater located on the island of Oahu atop mount Mauna Kapu
at the 1500 foot level. The repeater favors the south shores of Oahu out
to Waikiki and West shores out to Waianae. Also covers Mililani
and Wahiawa. The Echolink connection to the KH6JPL allows all amateur radio operators equipped with a 2 meter rig, to chat with other hams using Echolink Stations. You can connect to standalone PC users, Linked Users (usually radio), and other repeater systems linked through Echolink. With Echolink on other hams can dial into the KH6JPL repeater anytime day or night. If the repeater is idle you will hear the repeater announce the caller. If busy this announcement will be suppressed and you will never know if anyone is connected. However, you can send touch tones "08" and the repeater will announce the call signs of the hams connected via Echolink. Here are a few guidelines to follow:
Testing your DTMF MicrophoneTo test your DTMF microphone simply key the repeater, identify yourself with your call sign and depress the following sequence of tones: 1 2 3 4 5 6. You should hear Echolink respond with "123456 Not Found" . This is good as it confirms that Echolink can decode your DTMF tones. Next try 1 2 3 7 8 9 0. Response will be 1237890 not found. Finally test your your ABCD buttons. Here are the most common touch tone commands you can use: |
|
01 |
Place a random Echolink Call - it will automatically connect
to another Echolink station. First you will hear the
"connecting to" message, then you'll hear
"Connected.." Listen first, then call CQ. Note: If there is activity on the repeater than Echo link messages will not be heard. Use the 08 command to check connection status, Pause for Echolink connections to break in. |
# |
Disconnect the Call. Note: This will disconnect all users if conference mode is enabled. |
26655 |
This is the node number for the NH6QJ Echolink repeater. Each Echolink station has a node number that you can call directly via your touch tone pad. |
| 9999 | This node number can be used to test your audio as it will record your transmission and play it back to you. Simply use the # to disconnect. |
09 |
Call Back the last station that was connected to us. |
08 |
Status Request - Will let you know if someone is connected to us via Echolink. |
99 |
Disable Echolink - This is okay if you don't want to be bothered while in normal conversation over the repeater. |
88 |
Enable Echolink - Turns Echolink back on. |
| Have fun and enjoy.... 73 and Aloha... billyg | |
